A Cultural Experience…

Visit the beautiful Hunter Valley Gardens throughout the month of May to experience exotic and fascinating Asian cultures.

~ Guided tour – one of our horticultural staff will take you on a guided tour of our Asian gardens, highlighting the concepts and key differences between Western and Asian gardens and exploring the cultural and historical background to Asian horticultural design.

~ Tastes of Asia – We will feature on the Garden Terrace Restaurant menu Asian meals for purchase, prepared fresh each day by our award winning chefs.

~ Oriental displays – the gardens will be themed in Asian style, with lanterns, oriental music playing, Bonsai and traditional costumes on display to highlight the rich cultural heritage of the Orient.

~ Interactive activities and information talks – throughout the month we will feature different Asian arts and activities including Bonsai, Origami, Japanese Shibori Techniques, Indigo Dyeing, Lantern making and cooking demonstrations, giving visitors the opportunity to hear the experts, see demonstrations and participate in activities.
