Girls Big Day Out – hosted in conjunction with BPW (Business & Professional Women) Saturday 6th September
This event is an annual feature of Festival of Flowers, and run in conjunction with BPW as part of their fundraising activities. The day has great support from local businesses in promoting it and providing additional activities.
Don Burke Don is the founder of the original Backyard Lifestyle program, ‘Burke’s Backyard’ and the producer of multi Logie award winning garden makeover TV show ‘Backyard Blitz’. He now also produces the popular ‘Burke’s Backyard’ magazine. Don is an expert gardener as well as being nuts about animals and pets, too. And healthy food, the environment, science, DIY projects and good design anywhere it can be found. Don Burke will be on site from 11am – 3pm to meet and talk with visitors and deliver an information session on spring gardening and participate in an ask the experts panel.
Market stalls Visitors to the gardens will get to explore the variety of unique and gourmet market stalls located in the formal garden.
Girls pamper zone Being the ‘girls big day out’, what better way to enjoy a day in the gardens then to be pampered and spoilt. Meet professional staff from Bliss beauty and enjoy a shoulder run, hand massage or nail treatment.
Information sessions Hear the experts give all the fashion and beauty tips you need to feel inspired at our information talks in the amphitheatre.
Cooking demonstrations Have you taste buds temped with recipes and a cooking demonstration utilising the fresh produce of the gardens and the valley.
Garden talks and tours Enjoy a range of garden talks and tours hosted by our skilled and qualified horticulturists.

Kids Gardening Club - Every Weekend During September (excluding 27th & 28th September) Let the kids get their hands dirty and pot their very own plant with our team of Gardeners while Mum and Dad sit back and relax! Each participating child will also receive a pair of Briers Children’s Gardening Gloves.
$69 per family plus morning or afternoon tea $99 per family plus lunch Price includes children’s activity and entry to Hunter Valley Gardens.
