Christmas Lights Spectacular

For the fourth year running, Hunter Valley Gardens is set to host the
Christmas Lights Spectacular, Australia's biggest Christmas lights
display. A wonderful experience for the whole family to enjoy.

Christmas Lights Spectacular covers 5 of our feature gardens. For
safety reasons there is no access to the other gardens at night.

Open every night with over a million Christmas lights on show
throughout designated areas of Hunter Valley Gardens. With exciting
new displays of over 1 million lights, plus festive food, beverages,
children's entertainment and of course Santa Claus, Village Shopping
and Cafès open later on selected evenings, the Christmas Lights
Spectacular is bound to capture the spirit of Christmas and create
lasting memories for all. It is only a short drive from Newcastle to see
the Christmas Lights Display

This year we've made several additions to the Christmas Lights Spectacular with enough net lights to cover a football oval and 19km of string lights. Other features include scenes from the Jurassic Park era with fearsome dinosaurs and lava filled volcanoes, scenes from The North Pole, fountain firework lights, cherry blossom trees, a larger than life nativity scene and even a touch of Sydney thrown in >with the famous Sydney Harbour scene created in stunning lights. Kids will also love the ever popular cactus light display as it

makes a reappearance this year. Only 25 minutes drive from

Maitland to see the Christmas Lights Display

Fundraising will take place throughout the event for community based charities, with funds donated last year to Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Australian Citizens Radio Emergency Monitors (ACREM) and the local Lions and Rotary Clubs.

D&V Photography will be available so children will be able to have a professional photo taken with Santa or to simply sit on his knee and talk about their Christmas wish list. Well known children's group The Little Scallywagz will entertain them with a fun energetic upbeat Christmas show at 7pm and 8pm every night and there will also be roaming performers and carol singers, keeping everyone entertained. Every child will receive a FREE glow stick! You can even travel up from Sydney for the Christmas lights display

New Features Include:

The majestic 10 metre waterfall, the piece de resistance of the Sunken Gardens, features a paddle boat and will be illuminated with thousands of underwater lights creating a magical atmosphere that will capture the imaginations of both the young and young at heart.

• A large Lemax miniature village feature a little white chapel, a chocolate shop, and a shopping village just like our very own along with miniature houses, a train, ferris wheel and carousel (Lemax is leading the way for the worldwide sensation of miniature village collecting and display).

• Scenes from the Jurassic Park era with fearsome dinosaurs and lava filled volcanoes.

• Enchanted crystal sculpture lights for Santa, a snowman and Santa's sleigh and reindeers.

Santa Claus will be onsite from 11 November – 24 December and children can have their 'Santa' Photos taken by D&V Photography, or simply sit on Santa's knee to put in their Christmas wish list.

Crowds will also be entertained by Roaming Performers and Carollers throughout the event (entertainment changes nightly and varies throughout the event). Roaming Performers such as: The very funny 'Amazing Jonathan', performing amazing feats of magical and clowning mayhem. He will keep all amused as they enter the Gardens for their Christmas Lights experience.

The Little Scallywagz
The Little Scallywagz children's music group includes 5 performers, 2 of which are life size characters called Cha-Cha and J-J, will be on site every night of the Christmas Lights to
entertain the kids with a fun, energetic and upbeat
shows at 7pm & 8pm. Additional shows on demand..

The gates will open nightly from 6.30pm with pre-lights entertainment and food stalls so that families can make an evening of it. The lights display will commence at 7.30pm

From 11th November Hunter Valley Aqua Golf & Putt Putt will open till
6.30pm to coincide with the HVG Christmas Lights Spectacular.

In Conjunction with the Christmas hours Aqua Golf will be conducting a "shootout" for a maxi jackpot from 5 – 6pm. Putt Putt will hold the
"Hunter Valley Mini Golf championships" over this period.

If you have visited the Gardens throughout the day, entry to the Christmas Lights Spectacular is just $10 per adult & free for children with your receipt as proof of entry. Gardens open 9am - 4pm. Closed 25 December. This event will not open in adverse weather conditions.
